  • Interactive information and investigative displays
  • Dynamic simulation modules of system and machinery

Cobalt has a role as a teaching aid in a classroom, supporting a trainer or lecturer. Equally well, Cobalt can be used as part of a self-study (distance learning) resource for students who wish to advance their knowledge at sea, at home or the company head office (or sub-office). Whilst primarily aimed at marine engineers who wish to advance their careers Cobalt modules can also be used by non-engineering students, such as deck officers and other professionals requiring cross-training.

Computer hardware requirements:
Cobalt requires a Pentium processor (or equivalent), 32MB RAM, colour monitor 800x600 resolution, 256 colours. Installing all current modules requires some 560MB of hard disk space, or the modules can be run for the CD-ROM using the minimum install option that requires only 21 MB of hard disk space.

Cobalt will operate with Windows operating systems from 98 to XP and has been proven to work on a variety of regional versions of Windows.
