Can I trial the program? 
A trial option is not available with the full version of the software. However, a Ship Stability demo CD is available, please contact Videotel for details at
What is a dongle? 
1. A dongle is a device used to protect applications and data against unauthorized usage or duplication.
2. Videotel dongles attach to your computer’s parallel port (printer port).
3. A dongle attached to a parallel port will not interfere with printers or other peripheral devices connected to the port via the dongle, see below.

4. If you are using more than one dongle, link them together.
Can I install and run the program on more than one computer? 
Each purchased or rented program is licensed for installation on one computer. If you would like to install and unlock the program on additional computers, please contact for information about purchasing additional licenses. For each additional paid licence, you will receive an additional dongle.
Tech Note 1: 
Note: This information only applies to the Ship Stability (SS) program (Non-Demo Version).
If you receive the following message, or similar, the program is having difficulty accessing the dongle.
"DESkey not found. Insert DESkey and restart application"

This can be caused by one or more of the following:
1. The dongle is not installed
2. The dongle is installed, but loose
3. The wrong dongle is installed
4. Your dongle drivers need updating
5. There is a problem with the computer's printer port
Please do the following to correct the problem.
1. Attach the Ship Stability dongle (blue) to your computer's parallel (printer) port.
2. Restart the program. If the programs runs, you are done. If you receive the same error, continue to step 3.
3. Log in as a user with "Administrator" privileges if you are using Windows NT, 2000 or XP before completing the following steps. This requirement does not apply to Windows 95, 98, 98SE or ME.
4. Download the file dk12dongle_95_xp.exe (1.14 MB) to a convenient location on your computer.
5. Open the Add/Remove Programs window by clicking Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
6. Look for DK12 DESkey Device Driver in the list of programs, select it and then click Add/Remove. Reboot your computer, if requested and then go to the next step.
If DK12 DESkey Device Driver is not in the list, that is OK, close the Add/Remove window and go to the next step.

7. Open dk12dongle_95_xp.exe and follow the on-screen instructions
8. Restart your computer if requested
9. Start the program
