Can I install and unlock the program on more than one computer?
Each purchased or rented program is licensed for installation on one computer. If you would like to install and unlock the program on additional computers, please contact for information about purchasing additional licenses.
What do I enter for User Name and User ID when the program starts?

The User Name and ID you enter keeps your records separate from those of other users on the same computer. We suggest you enter your name as it is shown on your Seaman's Identity Card. If your company has issued a training ID number, please use it. Otherwise, choose an ID that is unique, will not change and contains any combination of letters and numbers (maximum 15), perhaps your Seaman’s ID Number.

Tech Note 1:
Some users have experienced missing screen text while within the "Training Guide" area of the Shipboard Security program. This has occurred on computers with the following specification:
1. Computer without a sound card
2. Windows NT4 computer with or without a sound card
Screen text visibility is triggered by the sound file starting to play. If a computer lacks a sound card, Shipboard Security can not determine when to display text. In the case of Windows NT4, this operating system has limited sound and video playback, which can lead to inconsistent program performance.
To correct the problem, please do the following:
1. Start Shipboard Security
2. Select "Training Guide" from the top menu
3. Click the "Voice Over Off" button in the lower-left-hand corner of the screen
4. Select a "Section" from the top menu
5. Text should now appear in all sections
